Solid dark colours, light colours and colours with a matt finish (honed, satin or flamed) are usually more susceptible to staining. Unfortunately, this is inherent in the material and cannot be completely prevented. Follow our recommendations when using your worktop; the amount of staining usually reduces after the first couple of months.

In practice this hardly ever results in any problems, however, we strongly recommend that you always use a trivet. In the event of a so-called thermoshock, your work surface may get damaged beyond repair.

Ceramic and Dekton
Yes, that should be OK. But use a trivet for very hot pans (or oven dishes), just to be on the safe side.

Granite
In principle yes, but we always recommend using a cutting board for hygienic reasons.

Mineralstone
We don’t recommend doing this. We advise the use of a cutting board, to prevent scratches and for hygienic reasons.

Ceramic and Dekton
Yes, but your knives will go blunt quicker and leave metal residues behind on your work surface. Therefore, we recommend using a cutting board for practical reasons.

Minor damage to natural stone can usually be fixed easily. We can never make a repair that is invisible, but we can usually fix it so that you will not notice it any more. Please send your report with a photo to the kitchen retailer that sold you the kitchen and the work surface. They will contact us to see how we can fix the issue, and what the costs will be.

Ceramic and Dekton
Minor damage can usually be repaired if you kept the splintered piece that came loose. If you did not, we can fill the damaged section but some damage will normally remain visible. Additionally, repairs are relatively vulnerable; they are at risk to come loose again. To arrange a repair, please send your report with a photo to the kitchen retailer that sold you the kitchen and the work surface. They will contact us to see how we can fix the issue, and what the costs will be.

Iron particles in the water can cause rusty spots in stainless steel sinks. The particles attach themselves to the sink. When they are not removed, they can oxidise.
Use Cif or another liquid abrasive to remove the rusty spots.

Granite, mineralstone, ceramic and Dekton
Sinks made out of stainless steel with a color-coating have a relatively low resistance to scratches and acids. Do not drop cutlery (or other heavy objects) in the sink, do not slide tough materials over the bottom of the sink and do not expose the surface to strong chemicals or aggressive cleaning agents.
